Over Heating

How Do We over Come Heating Issues? this Question has Come up Many times still the solution is not found.

How ever we Drive, even if we drive at 6000RPM continiously, engine shouldnt heat up for more than 1000kms,

Please answer if any one knows the solution

I also facing such overheating problem because my car fitted with LPG kit and also with air conditioner , I first alter the radiator to a bigger one and alter the timing and also add the coolant to the radiator but no use , and i dismantle the head for 4 times for assessing the problem . and finally come to a conclusion because every time the rear most cylinder having seizure mark that the reason is the water in not circulating deeply up to the rear cylinder water jackets , that is the reason for overheating , and i solve it by taking the water outlet from rear water jacket and connect it to front water pump inlet for circulating and it removes the heat very efficiently without any boiling or over heating and also i found so many things please give time to post

Overheating? Well...
If u love your oldie than its worth spending some bugs on her and see how it works. I don't have much !dea about it.

but I just placing ma ideas here.
I admit with P.M.Vasantha kumar, that its a radiator made for European conditions. but upgrading the radiator to the modern times, will sort the issue to much more extent. Though making place and finding one compatible radiator will be struggle. but finally Hard work always pay off.

so equipping with Aluminum Radiator will be better as aluminum losses its heat more efficiently than that of other metal radiators and remain cool as possible.

so what u say on this guys?

In order to over-come the over heating problem of cooling water in the radiator following data was used before arriving at the solution.

1) Radiator provided on this car is originally for European conditions where the average ambient temperature is far less than in India, which is a tropical country.
2) The original cooling fan used on this car is with 4 blades and a diameter of 300 mm.
3) we drive at much lower speeds in India, more load in the car and in traffic jams.The cooling air draft in these driving conditions is for less resulting in over heating.

Based on the above , the simplest maintenance free solution that I thought was to increase the suction capacity of the fan to cool the hot water in the radiator.

This was achieved by using a plastic fan with 7 blades cut to 300mm diameter and fixed .
It is important to note that the diameter has to be not more than 300 mm as it will touch the top hose of the radiator while the engine is floating during its operations either stationery or moving and damage the top house causing water leakage.

I have been running with this modification for the past four years and have achieved the following results.
1) The water temperature in the engine dose not go more than 90 *C in all my driving conditions. I have driven during June2011 a distance of 645km in one day and result has been good.
2) As the water does not over heat, there is no loss of water from the radiator.
3) I check the radiator water level ones in 15 days in local running conditions and before I take a long journey.

One of the main reasons for engine overheating is a failed water pump. Due to a failed water pump water does not circulate to the radiator and back, hence causing overheating of the engine. The water pump does not give out any signs of failure. Replace the water pump with a good quality one available in the market. Please try it and let me know the results

1. the radiator should be clean,
2. use coolant,
3. the air fuel mixture shouldn't be too lean,
4.Timing should be proper,
5. Important: Use normal fuel, i noticed higher temperature while using high octane fuel.
6. Engine oil for CNG vehicles (API SG/SH) also help as these oils contain higher heat dissipation property.
7. I use Nulon engine additive in my Padmini it helps the engine to run smoother and cooler.
These are from my experience. I faced this problem and sorted it out by following the above mentioned points. Now my Padmini does 120km/h for several minutes without any heating issues.

Fiat never heats up unless there is a leakage in the radiator. Do the below checks
1. Check for all hoses
2. Check for timing
3. Check for oil preasure
4. If you have recently changed pistons/rings ensure that the position of the rings are correct
5. Check for corrosion of the engine head

Check your radiator and the radiator fan..Sometimes the sediments get collected in the radiator and the cooling will not be efficient... coolin and then refilling the coolant and the water solution should generally work.. you can get your radiator serviced in JC road..
